Dr. Karen L. Gushta
Dr. Karen L. Gushta is Research Coordinator for Coral Ridge Ministries of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Karen’s family background includes a number of educators, and she has taught in elementary school, and undergraduate and graduate level teacher education. She also taught English as a second language in Bogota, Colombia and served as the director of an international children’s ministry before joining Coral Ridge Ministries. Karen’s degrees include a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Education from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, and two masters degrees: one in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico and the other in Christianity and Culture from Knox Theological Seminary in Fort Lauderdale. Besides research, Karen is involved in writing, editing, and curriculum development for Coral Ridge Ministries, (www.coralridge.org) which published her book, The War on Children: How Pop Culture and Public Schools Put Our Kids at Risk, in 2009. Karen has also edited three books in CRM’s Ten Truths series and two books of sermons by Dr. D. James Kennedy: The Mortgaging of America and Freedom From Financial Fear. Karen and her husband, Richard, live in the Fort Lauderdale area.
